About us

We (Kat, Monica, Rita and Susan) are sisters and sisters-in-law with decades of collective experience in education, communication, T'ai Chi Ch'uan, business, group facilitation and kinesthetic learning, not to mention family and interpersonal dynamics. We've come together in order to develop The Soft Answer Verbal T'ai Chi
system and make it available to the world.

We're indebted to all the amazing work so many before us have done, which served as a foundation to our Soft Answer system, including the writings of Eric Berne, Cheng Man Ch'ing, Chuang Tzu, Suzette Haden Elgin, Shakti Gawain, Stephen Karpman, Jack Kornfield, Lao Tzu, Virginia Satir, Sun Tzu, Deborah Tannen, and so many others in the areas of psychology, language and communications, T'ai Chi Ch'uan, meditation and mindfullness, education and more.

The purpose of the Soft Answer: Verbal T’ai Chi system is to help us develop internalized skills and resources which provide us with a reflexive kindness and a natural grace in navigating interpersonal exchanges - respecting and empowering ourselves such that we have the confidence and freedom to respect and empower others, and, in so doing, commit to and share in a more balanced, just and peaceful world.

Our mission for The Soft Answer Verbal T'ai Chi system is to get this material to as many people as possible, and in a way that's quick, easy, affordable and sustainable. We believe in its value, and we see it as a critical piece to mending the tears in our global human family network.

With your participation and support, we hope to carry this mission forward, engendering peaceable communication and harmony, beginning with each of us as individuals, and extending to our local and global communities.

Through our own cultivation of a Soft Answer practice, we've found that a lot of the pain, suffering and wasted time we previously experienced could be avoided by simply applying better communication skills. We developed this system so that we could share with you the effective strategies that have helped us (and others) bring greater balance and peace into our world.

The material has made a huge and positive difference in our lives and we are eager to share it with you, and we deeply appreciate your willingness to give our system a try.

Thank you for joining us on this journey.
